If I ever get the fundage to do so, I might look into the shots.

The thing is just I'd rather get the pollen and such shots first, since it affects so much more right now.

But getting a cat would be nice. Someday.

And wow, I thought my allergies were bad, but yours are just as bad, if not worse. My condolences.

I too have menacing allergies, including trees, weeds, many chemicals (most recently my shampoo and conditioner of several years; the detergent on the towels at the gym actually sent me to the hospital several months ago), dust, and cats. However, I still have cats with a tolerable level of reaction. In part this is because I got allergy shots for several years; I understand it's hit-or-miss with cats and for many people they don't work, but for me they did--hopefully you'd find the same. Also, while there is no hypo-allergenic cat contrary to popular belief, many people do find they react much less to certain breeds. For someone else I know it was Russian Blues; for me it's Cornish Rexes. If you love cats it might be worth getting the shots and then spending a little time around different breeds.
